Michelle Larmer
Michelle started out as a TV reporter in country New South Wales before making the transition to public relations in 1995. Over the past 15 years she has worked in large and small PR consultancies including Shandwick, Turnbull Porter Novelli, Sydney PR Works and now Double Edge PR. Michelle provides a journalistic edge to the PR partnership, ensuring the communication is sharp, newsworthy and importantly, achieves cut-through in busy newsrooms. Michelle also assists clients with a range of communication materials including online newsletters for staff, corporate publications for clients and scripts for presentations at consumer and trade events. Additionally, Michelle combines her experience in presenting and broadcasting to provide clients with expert media training advice for all styles of media.
Michelle has her Masters in Communication Management (UTS) as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Communication). She is a member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers (ASTW) and the Public Relations Industry Association (PRIA).
Simone Larmer
Simone has 15 years of public relations experience, working in both in-house and consultancy roles. She has also worked in advertising, marketing and television, broadening her communications experience.
A mother of two young children she is keenly interested in the areas of lifestyle and entertainment, whether it be promoting new homewares to magazines or launching a national SMS competition to the youth market. She also has strong credentials in fashion, consumer technology and health. At Double Edge, Simone heads up launch events and promotions, delivering creative and cost-effective programs. She is also actively involved in strategy, creative development and media relations.
Sarah Thompson
Sarah is a consultant whose experience in PR, Marketing and Event Management has spanned the entertainment, fashion, travel, FMCG, arts and non-profit sectors. Sarah joined the Double Edge team in August 2008, and has worked across most of the agency's accounts, loving every minute.
After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Hons) at the University of Technology, Sarah moved to the London where she joined the British Film Institute's Events team, managed networking events for emerging artists and worked with youth marketing consultancy SCB Partners. Sarah also had a six month stint in Indonesia working as a volunteer Communications Consultant to an NGO helping earthquake victims.
When she is not in the office, Sarah can be found at the beach, watching indie films, rocking out at gigs and practising advanced yoga postures. Her favourite TV show is Q&A, and she would love to meet Bear Gryll from Man vs Wild.
Nelia Cruz
Nelia Cruz joined the Double Edge team in November 2009 whilst completing a Bachelor of Marketing and Public Relations at the University of Notre Dame. During her time at uni, Nelia gained valuable exposure to the PR industry via internships at reputable PR agencies including Double Edge and Polkadot PR.
As a full-time junior consultant at Double Edge, Nelia provides support services to the team which involves research, media lists, media clipping reports, client administration and press office services. Assisting on a range of clients in the Travel, Health, Technology, Entertainment and Lifestyle sectors, Nelia is enjoying the dynamic nature of PR and is keen to continue broadening her knowledge of the industry.
Vanessa Papas
Vanessa is a consultant at Double Edge PR. She completed a Bachelor of Media Communications from Southern Cross University, whilst also undertaking a diploma in Advertising. Vanessa started her career in gaming promotions and marketing before steering into PR. She has also completed work experience with Cosmopolitan Brand Extensions, Enfatico and Frank PR.
Vanessa is motivated by the fast paced, creative nature of PR, she is also in charge of leading the Double Edge lunch time running sessions. Vanessa loves bathing in the Greek Islands with a glass of Pinot Grigio in hand.
Lauren Pinchen
Lauren first joined the Double Edge team in 2008 as an intern, and just kept coming back for more! At the conclusion of her Bachelors in Communications at UTS, she began full time as a junior consultant. Lauren works across all accounts and is loving her time learning the ropes of the industry, finding a particular niche in researching new opportunities and contacts for our clients to reach out to.
In her spare time, Lauren is attempting Bikram yoga, coaching swimming or spending too much time (and money) online shopping. She has a particular addiction to tea and documentaries, and if she could be anywhere doing anything, she'd be walking the streets of Florence or Berlin (she's not picky).
